THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO CHICAGO | in 48 hours
HEY DREAMERS , welcome back to another post
If you follow along with me on instagram or youtube, than you would know I recently went to Chicago for a quick weekend getaway. I never been to Chicago before (I only had lay overs there when I would travel), so I was really excited to see the city. When I got there I was in complete shock of how beautiful and well kept the city was. There were so many trees on every street, and gardens everywhere. It literally felt like I was in a mini jungle surrounded by the city. In todays post im going to share with you some of my fav spots I visited as well as some other places that you can see, in less that 48 hours.
Cloud Gate Park
FUN FACT: Cloud Gate was created by using computer technology to cut 168 massive stainless-steel plates into precise shapes which were then pieced together like a puzzle and welded shut.
Visiting this park was one of the highlights of my trip. The area that the park was in was so beautiful, it was surrounded by these beautiful high rise buildings.
2. CHICAGO THEATER
I would recommend going to the Cloud Gate and then to the Chicago Theatre. Its only about 10 min walk from each.
WHAT TO KOWN : this street is very busy, so watch out for your personal items.
The river in Chicago is one of my fav things about the city. It adds a sense of peace to the busy city around it. One thing I would recommend doing is going on a ferry ride. Every ferry has their own price.
FERRY RIDE PRICES:
*if you want a cheap alternative go on the water taxi.
4. PLACES TO EAT
THE CONRAD HOTEL ROOFTOP RESTAURANT
I highly recommend going here, it is a Japanese style restaurant with some other options. Literally everything I ate was so amazing and I couldn’t ask for better service. Plus its great if you want to get some cool rooftop view photos. I would recommend calling the hotel first to book a reservation.
GIORDANOS DEEP DISH PIZZA
I know tour busses are not for everyone, but Its a great way to learn more about the city while experiencing a beautiful view. I like them because you can get off at any stop so you have the freedom to do what ever. We stayed on it for about an hour and it was the highlight of my trip. I made sure to put phone away and just enjoy the view.
Go on google and look up different tour bus companies. The prices are pretty similar, but different ones go different directions. So look at what works best for you.
2. SHOPPING AND CUTE NEIGHBOURHOODS
The shopping in Chicago is amazing, there are so many stores to go too. I always get so excited because we dont have any of those stores in Toronto. If you want to spend the day walking around and shopping, im going to share with you some of my fav neighbourhoods to go to.
NORTH RUSH STREET
Thats it for todays blog post, I hope you enjoy your trip to Chicago. It is honestly one of my fav city and I highly recommend.
